Why Won’t My iPhone Connect to Wifi?

Smartphone Repair / Smartphone Repair

It’s usually a good idea to connect your phone to a wifi network when you’re in range of one you can trust. This way, you won’t be using up all your data and you can get to where you’re going faster. However, sometimes our phones just won’t connect to the wifi network, even if we have the right password. So what’s up?

Make Sure Your Wifi Is On

When you try to connect to your wifi network on your phone, make sure you have your wifi settings turned on. Your phone won’t be able to find the network if its settings are off.

Check Your Router

Once you’ve checked to make sure you put in the right password, try checking your wireless router. Make sure it is turned on and that you are within the necessary range of the router itself. You may even want to turn it off and then on again. Sometimes, the problem is just that simple.

Update Your Operating System

You may be having trouble because your phone’s operating system isn’t up to date. You can check this by going into your settings and seeing if an update is available. If it is, it’s just a matter of waiting until the system updates. Then you can try connecting to the wifi again.

Reset Your Network Settings

This is another option you can use to fix the issue of connecting to your wifi network, especially if the option to click on the network is grayed out on your phone. Go into your settings and under general and reset, you’ll find an option to reset your network settings. This will also reset your saved passwords for any wifi networks, so make sure you have the password on hand when you’re ready to try reconnecting.
