Top iOS 9.3 Tips
With each update, iOS users end up with a smorgasbord of features that were not available before. The problem is that most people don’t even know they exist. The following are just some of the many iOS features that rolled out with 9.3
Turn Off the Blue Light
You’ve probably heard you shouldn’t use your iPhone or iPad before bed because it can keep you from sleeping well at night. Well, that’s not true anymore. You can use it, as long as you turn the Night Shift on. The Night Shift reduces the blue wavelength of the screen. Just go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Night Shift.
Yes, Wi-Fi calling. You can now call people through Wi-Fi rather than use airtime charges (if you don’t have unlimited). You will need to turn this feature on by going to Settings>Phone>Wi-Fi Calling.
AT&T Users: Guess what? You can call internationally with Wi-Fi calling!
Everyone is loving GIFs, especially since they are now a big part of Twitter. You can create GIFs easily with iOS 9 with it’s Live Photos feature. All you have to do is hold your finger on the picture when you view it afterwards and you’ll get a little live motion from when the picture was taken.
Bonus: Save your GIF as a wallpaper, for a really cool effect.
Turn Low Power On
Forgot your charger? No worries; just turn low power on and you’ll likely save the battery long enough until you can get to it. Just go to Setting>Battery and then turn the low power setting on.
Select All Images
Before iOS 9.3, you had to tap each image you wanted to select. Now, you can simply drag your finger across the images to select them.
Two Finger Text Select
On the iPad, you can them select a word or sentence easier. Just tap your finger two times and then spread them to highlight what you want to select.
If you want to work while watching YouTube on the iPad, go ahead and use the picture in picture video. You can simply tap on the picture in picture icon to bring YouTube or whatever you’re watching to the top corner making it smaller, and then bring up the app you want to work in.
