The Day the Lights Went Out in Olathe

Wow, what a busy last couple of weeks… and it’s not slowing down. A special thanks to all our customers (and potential customers) for giving us a chance to repair your favorite gadgets.

If any of you tried to call us last Friday afternoon, say, around 1:00-4:00 PM, you might have found that we weren’t answering phones. We had a mini-meltdown outside of our offices and some of the transformers blew up – causing our whole side of the street to lose power for a few hours. Our important servers and workstations were on a backup power source EXCEPT for our phone system. Whoops.

If you tried to call in to us during that brief period, we’re sorry that our phones weren’t working. The power is back and the problem is resolved moving forward. On a positive note, the employees who heard a loud *POP* and quickly looked outside got to see a nice little fireworks show.

A couple of these bit it.

A couple of these bit it.

I don’t know why, but I didn’t snap any photos of the actual damage. But I can tell you that it blew some ceramic bits all the way into our parking lot, which is probably over 100 feet away.

So there it is — my fun story for the day. Thanks for reading!
