White Winter at iResQ?

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

Hello all,

The Autumn months are quickly passing us by and 2010 is nearing its end. This is easily the best time of the year, at least in regards to sports, in the Kansas City area. Too bad we don’t have a NBA team because that’s started up already. But what we don’t have in NBA, we make up for with college teams. Missouri, Kansas, and Kansas State are all huge out here. Throw in some sprinklings of Nebraska and Iowa State and we have a pretty wide variety of fans here in KC. You probably already know our feelings about the NFL and college football from previous blogs.

Let’s get to the point here regarding the “White Winter” reference in the blog title. On Tuesday, local meteorologist (or weather man — great Nic Cage movie by the way) Gary Lezak released his prediction for snow storms this winter here in KC. There’s a lot that goes into his prediction and you can watch the video below, or read about it on the NBC Action News website.

So how much snow did Gary predict we’d get this year?

A measly 13 inches!!!!! That’s 31″ less than we received last year. The forecast is actually fine by me. Snow is pretty and all, but once it starts melting and getting that muddy-water look, I’m done with it. I also don’t like the slick roads and traffic accidents that can result. It can also slow down delivery trucks (and planes) and hinder our employees getting into work. Now that I’ve gone over the negatives, I guess snow’s not that great. I might not even have to break out the Snow Beasts this year!

If Gary’s correct, we should have a pretty easy Winter season here. Thanks Gary — we’ll see how your prediction goes over the next few months!

In the meantime, we’ll be doing our usual, repairing Apple products by day and cozying up by the fireplace by night.

Until next time,

Cowboys and iPhones

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

Hey all (or y’all),

I will be heading down to the great state of Texas this weekend to visit family, friends, and watch football. I’m trying to decide how many of my Apple devices to bring with me on the trip. The iPhone is definitely coming, but what about the MacBook Pro or the iPad? Decisions, decisions.

“Urban Cowboy”

Two years ago I flew down to Dallas and then drove over to Austin. Last year I flew into Houston and spent some time. This year I’m flying into Dallas and then driving to College Station. I’ll be attending the Heath vs. Rockwall high school football game on Friday night and the Missouri vs. Texas A&M game on Saturday. If you’ve ever read my blogs before, you know I’m a football nut and this should be enough evidence to prove that theory for you if you were on the fence. I’m excited to visit Kyle Field and see the game, even though I’ll have to listen to the Aggie Yell Leaders (below).

Texas A&M "Aggie Yell Leaders"

The Texas A&M “Aggie Yell Leaders”

To change gears a little… We have been slammed with repairs, emails, and phone calls lately. I attribute that to a combination of things, but recently there are two articles that were published online that I want to point out:

The first is titled, “Apple May Surpass Exxon As World’s Most Valuable Company.” Guys, these folks running Apple are doing something right. I know there are a lot of haters out there, but you can’t argue with the success over the last few years.

The second article is called, “Study: iPhone 4 more fragile than previous models.

When you think about both those articles, even if you only read the titles, it’s pretty easy to figure out why iResQ has been so successful. People are buying tons of Apple products — portable products that you can take around with you. Some of those things are going to break. Combine that with our easy-to-use website, amazing pricing deals, and exemplary customer service… It’s easy to see why we’ve been around since 1994 (and we’re not going anywhere)!

Folks, we’re here if you need us, no matter where you are in the USA.

See you in Texas!

Until next time,

Go Big Red Apple

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Hi friends. I hope all of you are well. We have a few things to discuss today. First, lets talk about the fact that Apple is going to fill us in on their new Portables on Tuesday. That’s exciting right? Rumors are flying around all over the place about a new design sprouting from the MacBook Air, and a possible drop in prices for the MacBook. I personally would much prefer a drop in price to a new design. I mean, we all love the MacBook Pro and MacBook series so much, there is really no need to change the design. Although, if anyone can create a design that changes my mind it’s Apple. For example, I remember seeing the Third Generation iPod when I was but a boy and thinking, “wow, nothing will ever beat this.” Ha, what a stupid boy I was. Any who, with all of the economic troubles going on I think a drop in price is a great idea.

Moving on, let us next discuss the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team. You see, I’m from Nebraska and I grew up with my team on top…good times! Now I find myself living in Missouri and working in Kansas, and needless to say the Red Sea, though still a huge entity, seems to be in a small drought. I guess this is all sprouting from the fact that Missouri absolutely destroyed Nebraska in Lincoln in front of the Red Sea last week (did I mention that I live in Missouri and work with Missouri fans?). It’s hard being Bryan. But, tomorrow Nebraska plays Texas Tech in Texas……….. Doh! Hopefully they can sneak away with a win. But you know what? Even if they don’t I am guartanteeing a win against Kansas in Lincoln this year…….So take that!

Ok that is all, enjoy your weekend, watch football and if you’re not in Texas root for the Huskers!
