At the one-year anniversary of having your smartphone, you may notice that it doesn’t quite work or look like what it did when you first bought it. This may make you think it’s time to purchase a new one, but we like to save people money. Instead of wasting your money on buying the newest smartphone, read these ways to make yours last.
Some people get anxious when they hit 50% battery life on their phone. They fear it will cut out on them at the worst time possible. To subside their anxiety, they plug it in for a full charge. This is the worst thing you can do because your phone’s battery decreases in longevity each time you charge it.
The best thing to do is to allow your phone to completely die. If that’s just too stressful, plug it in when it hits at least 5%. Go as low as you can go, though.
It also matters how long you charge it. Unplug your phone as soon as it hits 100%. You don’t have to keep checking it, but do check it after an hour to see how close it is and then again depending on how long more you think it will take to hit a full charge.
If you’ve already messed up your battery life, you can always get a battery replacement to start fresh. iResQ offers battery replacement for most smartphones on the market today. Check out our smartphone repair page for more information.
We know it’s obvious and not something you really want to do, but it really does make your smartphone last longer. Dropping your phone is bound to happen, and the damage doesn’t only make your phone look bad, but it could break it.
If you’ve already dropped your phone and it’s broken, you don’t have to buy a new one. You can have us fix it for you. We repair screens and can fix whatever may be wrong with it, such as a broken camera, microphone, or Wi-Fi.
Some people never update their phone because they hate the changes that come along with it, but the problem is that those updates are released because of changes that happen with the network and the way the phone works. Update your phone as often as it needs to be, so you don’t end up hating the fact that it’s slow, apps freeze, shut down, etc.
What we mean by cleaning it out is deleting apps you no longer use and taking the hundreds of pictures that you have saved on it. This will improve how fast it operates and it will allow you to use it freely without becoming aggravated when you can’t record a video or install a new app because of limited space.
We have many other tips for making your smartphone last longer. Be sure to check back often to learn more about how you can keep your phone running efficiently and looking as good as new.
