- Ask a friend if you can borrow his or her charger. Try to use it to see if that will work. If it will, it’s just a faulty charger, so all you need is to buy yourself a new one.
- Look inside of dock connector. Do you see a part of the charger in it, specifically the pins from the charger? You’ll need a dock connector (lightning connector) replacement if so because there’s no way to remove the broken off part.
- If the dock connector (lightning connector) is loose, you’ll need to replace it because it has become disconnected.
- If you plug it in, and it seems as though it is charging (indicator shows charging), but the battery doesn’t charge completely, it’s likely you need a battery replacement.
Basically, if you use a different charger and it works, you don’t need a repair. If it doesn’t work, you do need a repair.
