For the love of gadgets

Friday, April 27th, 2012

As you may know, I am a pretty big Apple fan.  I am also a huge gadget fan in general.  I can easily say that my iPhone 4 is my favorite and most important gadget that I have ever owned.  The thought of being without it for a few hours makes me cringe. On my way to work today, I noticed that my iPhone wasn’t where it usually was in my car. I panicked. I had already driven out 10 minutes and was contemplating turning back around towards my house to pick it up. Was an extra 20 minutes of driving going to be worth a few hours without my beloved iPhone 4?  Before I turned around, I thought that I would just pull over and check the car to verify that I didn’t somehow drop it in my car before I left. Luckily for me, I found it on the floor in the back of the car. Whew!

This got me to thinking about how attached I am to this little device.  Not being in touch with the world via my personal serial number (my phone number) would not be fun.  It also got me to thinking about all the things I use it for: accessing work email and client contacts, games, Netflix while I’m at the gym, podcasts when I’m on the road, and I am even beginning to dable into recording music in GarageBand with iRig.

As much as we rely on these devices, we all know that if you were to ever break your iPhone 4 or crack its screen, you would need to get it fixed as quickly as possible. Well, that’s where we come in. You send in your broken iPhone 4 for repair through us, we’ll fix it and ship it right back out to you the SAME DAY we receive it.  I challenge you to find quicker turnaround time on these repairs anywhere. Even if you decide to drop off your cracked iPhone to a local store, chances are it would take them about a week to get it repaired for you, in which time you would have already received your repaired iPhone if you were to have us repair it for you.

Just food for thought. Talk to you next week!

iResQ Repair Month in Review

Friday, March 30th, 2012

I just wanted to drop a line real quick to mention some happenings here at iResQ.  It’s the end of the month and we are proud to say that this has been a great month all around for us.  iPad repairs and iPhone repairs dominated the tech room throughout the month.  I just want to congratulate all of our techs for putting their time in and learning the ins and outs of the 3rd generation iPad in record time.  Each of our techs went above and beyond by taking on such a massive amount of new iPad repairs.  We were all surprised at the amount of new iPads that came in for repair as early as the day after its release.  And guess what…there is a steady stream of them still coming in as we speak.

Meanwhile, in our iPhone repair labs our iPhone techs have been busy beavers themselves.  Now that the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S have been around a while, we are seeing a lot of them show their age as batteries on these devices are now beginning to show signs of wear.  iPhone 4 battery replacements as well as iPhone 4S battery replacements have been a really popular repair this month while iPhone 4 screen replacements and iPhone 4S screen replacements continue to be our most popular iPhone repair with glass backplate repair for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S coming in a close second.

MacBook and MacBook Pro repairs have always been a staple for us and we have a killer deal coming to you later from our MacBook Pro repair department so hang tight.

Last, but certainly not least I want to touch on iPod repairs. It shouldn’t be a surprise, but we see more iPod Touchs come in for repair than any other model of the iPod.  In particular, we are seeing more 4th Gen iPod Touchs coming in.  It’s been like this for quite a while now but March has proven this more than ever. iPod Touch screen repairs are definitely the most common repair we see.  Our iPod Department Manager, Bryan Moeller shows you why in this video:

Talk to you next week!

Pictures with Friends and iPhone 4 Repairs

Thursday, March 29th, 2012

Good morning to you all. It’s Thursday, which means it’s almost Friday, which means it’s almost time for the Final Four! Huzzah! For those of you not in Kentucky, Ohio, Kansas or New Orleans, my condolences. It’s very exciting for the rest of us, though. Even Jason Sudeikis is plugging the tourney, being a die-hard Jayhawks fan. If you caught him on Letterman Tuesday night, you may have heard multiple nods to the metropolitan area we here at iResQ call home. Overland Park, where Sudeikis grew up, is adjacent to Olathe where our headquarters is located. In any case, it’s always fun to hear a local product get big and mention his hometown and the local culture. If you didn’t see it, here’s an amusing anecdote about his first Final Four experience:

And now a quick plug for an iPhone App that has me glued to my iPhone 4. If you love the social aspects of Words with Friends, but you’re looking for something new (or you’re fed up with WwF’s rejection of actual words), try Draw Something. It’s a simple concept- you draw something, the other iPhone/iPad user you’re playing with guesses what it is. Easy enough? There’s a learning curve in drawing with your finger tip, so if you’re like me most of your early attempts will look like malformed stick figures, but eventually you may do this:

There’s a free version in the App Store, so go at it. And remember, if in the midst of a frantic drawing or guessing session you drop your iPhone 4, iPad or iPod Touch, don’t fret. As always, we’re here with repair services for all your iDevices. Have a great week everybody.

Don’t forget about the iPhone 4S

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012

With all of this talk about the iPad 3, any news about the iPhone 4S and iOS 5.1 seems to have been eclipsed. Let’s remember that Apple is more than likely going to announce more than just the iPad 3.  This event is going to be big. We may hear something about the next iteration of the Apple TV, new Macbook Pro models, or even (gasp) the Apple TV!! Ok, maybe not the Apple TV but who knows?

Among the topics that Apple may discuss is iOS 5.1. Seeing iOS 5.1 in more detail is going to be great. There are many reasons to be excited about iOS 5.1. While iOS 5.1 may initially be available only for the iPad 3, rest assured, when its the iPhone 4S’ turn to receive the iOS 5.1 update, it will take full advantage of it. A more capable Siri? Yes please! Apple has done an amazing job updating its mobile platform with each iteration.

So before selling or throwing out that cracked or broken iPod Touch or iPhone 3G S, iResQ can repair it for you to get it ready for the new iOS. Remember, we just reduced prices on iPhone 4S repairs dramatically. iPhone 4S Screen repairs are at a record low of $99.

Fix your broken iPhone!!
