iResQ Repair Month in Review

Friday, March 30th, 2012

I just wanted to drop a line real quick to mention some happenings here at iResQ.  It’s the end of the month and we are proud to say that this has been a great month all around for us.  iPad repairs and iPhone repairs dominated the tech room throughout the month.  I just want to congratulate all of our techs for putting their time in and learning the ins and outs of the 3rd generation iPad in record time.  Each of our techs went above and beyond by taking on such a massive amount of new iPad repairs.  We were all surprised at the amount of new iPads that came in for repair as early as the day after its release.  And guess what…there is a steady stream of them still coming in as we speak.

Meanwhile, in our iPhone repair labs our iPhone techs have been busy beavers themselves.  Now that the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S have been around a while, we are seeing a lot of them show their age as batteries on these devices are now beginning to show signs of wear.  iPhone 4 battery replacements as well as iPhone 4S battery replacements have been a really popular repair this month while iPhone 4 screen replacements and iPhone 4S screen replacements continue to be our most popular iPhone repair with glass backplate repair for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S coming in a close second.

MacBook and MacBook Pro repairs have always been a staple for us and we have a killer deal coming to you later from our MacBook Pro repair department so hang tight.

Last, but certainly not least I want to touch on iPod repairs. It shouldn’t be a surprise, but we see more iPod Touchs come in for repair than any other model of the iPod.  In particular, we are seeing more 4th Gen iPod Touchs coming in.  It’s been like this for quite a while now but March has proven this more than ever. iPod Touch screen repairs are definitely the most common repair we see.  Our iPod Department Manager, Bryan Moeller shows you why in this video:

Talk to you next week!

Repaired iPad 3rd Generation

The new iPad is fixed

iPad 3 after the repair

As mentioned earlier today, we have been receiving quite a few broken 2012 iPads and we have more on the way. In my last blog post, I showed you one of the broken iPads. Well as promised we have the “after repair” shot to the right. Nic, one of our professional iPad techs, had the pleasure of working on this beauty.  He got it done quick too!

We are seeing more new iPads come in than expected so we are stocking up on as many replacement glass screens/digitizers as we can in order to keep up with the crazy demand.  Give us a call if you have any questions about your new iPad repair or if you don’t see a repair that you think you need.

In other iPad news, have you been keeping up with the whole over-heating issue that some users are experiencing with the  new iPad?  Apparently Apple stated that the new iPad operates within their heat specifications.  This sounds like Apple sees no issue with this.  As a matter of fact, that article mentions that this is only reported to happen to some users and under some specific circumstances.  Maybe this is blowing up more than it should.  It seems like no matter how great a product is, people are always going to find something to complain about.

New iPad Repairs Are In

Tuesday, March 20th, 2012

I promised you some exciting news and I will deliver.   Remember when I posed the question of how long it will take before we see a new iPad in for repair? Well that question has been answered: 1 day!  Yes, folks, it took just one day before we got an order in for a screen repair on the new iPad.  I’m beside myself right now. We officially announced and released our new iPad repairs on Friday afternoon and the first order was placed on Saturday morning for cracked glass repair!! (Click image for hi-res).

Luckily for this customer we were here from DAY 1 offering repairs on the new iPad.  No one else can claim this, just the friendly folks here at iResQ that truly offer what you want: a speedy, reliable, and affordable experience without all the nonsense.   I’ll post another blog later on today with more pictures of the broken iPad and pictures of the new iPad repaired by one of our technicians.  But first, let me give you one observation; the new iPad is pretty heavy compared to the iPad 2.  It feels about the same weight as the original iPad.  This means that if you drop your new iPad, it will more than likely have a greater chance of cracking.

If you find yourself in a situation that left you with a broken new iPad, this is the place to go.  Here are our screen repair services for the new iPad Gen 3:

New iPad (2012) Glass/Digitizer Repair/Replacement (BLACK)

New iPad (2012) Glass/Digitizer Repair/Replacement (WHITE)

Remember, we’ll be adding more repair services for the Gen 3 iPad so keep on checking back.

4G LTE Coming to the iPad 3?

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

It doesn’t come as a surprise that Apple will begin using the 4G LTE network on its iOS devices. But this soon? Possibly as early as tomorrow we will see the first iOS device with LTE capability, the iPad 3. This means faster download/upload speeds. Will this cause you to use your iPad more frequently and for longer periods? Or will this decrease your time spent using you iPad? Does this mean you’ll suck up more bandwidth than you ever had and will hit your data limit sooner than expected? Let’s hope not, these data plans are NOT CHEAP!! Think about it, you could potentially have a data plan for your iPhone, your iPad, your brand new SONY Vita….who knows what’s next? Here’s my prediction, you’ll have to start paying for a dataplan when your next car is an Apple-integrated “Super Smart Car”.

One way or another, 4G LTE for the iPad and the iPhone are looking like a reality that is closer than you would expect. Everything is moving faster nowadays, just be sure to hang on to your iPhone’s and iPads, because like I discussed yesterday, it takes just a few feet and a an unlucky encounter with the pavement for your pristine iPhone 4S or iPad 3 to fall and break. But hey, that’s what we’re here for, to repair your broken iPhone’s and iPads with cracked screens!
