Well, it’s a bit of a stock roller coaster as always at Apple, Inc. Apple announced the iPhone 4 was moving to Verizon. That’s good. Then Steve Jobs announced he was taking an indefinite medical leave for the second time. That’s bad. But then he showed up to deliver the keynote speech at the iPad 2 event and, aside from looking a little thin, seemed to be in reasonable condition. That’s good. Now, more good news. According to Fortune, Apple is number one on the Most Admired companies list for the fourth straight year. You can check out the article, and the other Top Fifty at cnn.com (Microsoft is still holding on at number nine).
So Rumors are already swirling about the iPhone 5, even though its release isn’t (presumably) until June. It seems that amid all the antenna controversy the life of the iPhone 4 was too brief. Sure, it wasn’t entirely functional if you held it in your hand. Sure, the move to Verizon was supposed to have corrected the network coverage issues but apparently didn’t at all. I still never met a single owner that complained or wanted to return theirs. Plus, as if it hasn’t been said enough, the design is just stunning. Well, you can say goodbye to the double glass. Everyone seems to be under the impression that the aluminum backing is coming back from the first-generation grave. Thanks to the unprecedented success of the iPad and soon to be iPad 2, Apple appears to have taken the better elements of the original iPhone and created a device that has five years worth of perfecting built in. Here’s a projected design mockup from an Apple news blog in Japan:
Sorry to any of you who just picked up an iPhone 4, but the anticipation for the next gen is going to start getting thick over the next few weeks. Here we go.

Well, this isn’t breaking news or anything now, but I would like to take a little time to talk about today’s announcement of the iPad 2. First and foremost, kudos to Steve Jobs for showing up. It’s sad knowing that his health has been an issue lately, but inspiring at the same time to see his dedication and commitment to his company and to all of us Mac users. I can’t really say much about it but THANKS STEVE!!
That aside, I am really impressed with the feature-set announced for the new iPad 2. “Thinner. Lighter. Faster. Facetime. Smart Covers. 10-hour battery.” I don’t want to get into too many details about it, you can read it all here, but the thing that excites me the most about the iPad to is the Garageband app. We already know what the iPad is capable of after hearing the Gorilaz’ album, The Fall, which was created on an iPad. Now the possibilities are even greater as far as music creation goes. Oh yeah, another thing I love…HDMI out!!!
Needless to say, iResQ will be offering a full line of services and repairs for the iPad 2 so stay tuned.
On a different note, we have just added two new repair services for the Verizon iPhone 4 in addition to the Verizon iPhone 4 Broken Glass, LCD, and Digitizer Repair Service:
Good luck trying to get an iPad on March 11th. I anticipate them selling out quickly so you better camp out if you know whats good for you!!

It shouldn’t be a surprise that rumors of Apple’s second generation of the iPad have been making their rounds across the blogosphere. The device has been out for less than three quarters of a year and we are already seeing “leaked” photos of the iPad 2 back case. After browsing through Gizmodo’s website, I found this article about the iPad 2. While many of these photos are “questionable” it is hard not to speculate on the possibility that these photos might be real. Its all in good fun, isn’t it?
So what does Apple have planned for the iPad 2? We can only guess at this point. According to the Gizmodo article, the iPad 2 will have a “Bigger Speaker, Flatter Back” and will be “Very Slightly Smaller.” Starting from the beginning, does the iPad even need a bigger speaker? Sure, it wouldn’t hurt. Who wouldn’t like to have a little extra volume while you’re watching your favorite youtube video? Personally, though, I would rather listen to my iPad through a set of bluetooth speakers.
Next up, the iPad is rumored to have a flatter back. This makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? Just look at the change Apple made from the iPhone 3G S to the iPhone 4. It seems like the next logical step for Apple to take with the iPad.
Finally, according to the article, the iPad will be slightly smaller. According to Jesse, one of our iPad technicians, we could see how Apple could rearrange some of its internal components to make it a little more compact. Thinner is better right? Finally! I will be able to fit my iPad in my back pocket!!! lol. Cheap, I know.
What else is there? Let’s engage in conjecture. For this, I will ask the question: What does the iPhone 4 have that the iPad currently doesn’t?
Hmm…Interesting. I don’t see any reason the iPad 2 shouldn’t have these features.
Well, one can only guess as to what Apple will ultimately do with the iPad 2. Whatever happens, everyone will be clamoring to get their hands on one. And iResQ will continue to provide the best repair services around the nation for all of your Apple products including the iPad 2. Be on the lookout in the upcoming months for a list of iPad 2 repair services on our iPad repair page.
