Celebrity tosses iPhone; sees real-life repercussions

Russell Brand is a supposed British funnyman, but let's be realistic, folks, there's nothing funny about breaking a perfectly good iPhone. Reuters reports that the actor and comedian was ordered to do 20 hours of community service and pay $500 after throwing a photographer's iPhone through a window, something that would most certainly warrant some unnecessary and unfortunate iPhone repair.

“New Orleans police arrested Brand on March 15 after a photographer accused the comedian of grabbing his iPhone and tossing it through a window, breaking the glass in a downtown law office,” the news source reports. “Brand was charged with one count of misdemeanor criminal damage to property and released shortly after his arrest. The charge of simple criminal damage to property valued under $500 carries a potential penalty of up to six months in prison and/or a $500 fine.”

Brand's lawyer, Robert Glass, said Brand can take care of the community service anywhere, which must be a nice celebrity perk. Regular folks take note: Please do not go around breaking iPhones. You will most likely have to take a stay in New Orleans.

Whether your iPhone gets thrown or the glass is simply cracked from the amount of use the phone gets, iResQ is there for Apple lovers to make sure their phones and other devices are in working condition.
