What it do, everybody? Fall is officially here according to the UPS calendar on the wall, and that means it’s about time to head to the cider mill or the pumpkin patch, break out the hoodies and long pants, and start raking leaves. Ugh, I hate yard work. But who can say no to jumping into a pile of red, orange and amber with the kids? Not me.
You may or may not have heard that Apple is declining vacation requests from employees during the first week of October. And that could only mean…. retail patronage influx for the IPHONE 5!. Huzzah. Maybe its just me, but this year seems a little light on all the iPhone ado- maybe it’s because there’s no hugely dramatic design change, maybe it’s because Steve Jobs isn’t driving the buzz, or maybe it’s just the three extra months of waiting that has everybody turning up the ambivalent knob. Still, it’s exciting to anticipate what Apple has in mind for the iPhone 5, as well as the Sprint iPhone and the rumored iPhone light (4S?). Here we go.
And, as is a fall custom, a quick check on football. Chiefs = still bad. With nearly half the roster on the DL, it’s a wonder that they came within half a field length of beating Philip Rivers and the Chargers. Broken, battered and incompetent is no way to go through life, son. If you live in or pay any attention to the midwest, it’s time to panic again in the Big 12, which is now a mathematical anomaly at nine schools. Tired of losing to everyone in the third or fourth best conference in the NCAA, Texas A&M has officially moved to the SEC, the best conference in the NCAA. Smart move, Aggies. And thanks for pushing the rest of us to stay and support the league over the last few months. Not that anyone can blame you. Let’s go Big 9! Now if we just drop one more it’s back to the good old days:
Ok, everyone, I think it’s about time for me to stop ranting. Have a great week, and we’ll be back with more iPhone news as it happens.

There’s a lot of stuff going on right now at iResQ – among those things:
1) Snow Leopard comes out Friday
2) The Chiefs have played 2 preseason games
3) College football starts in about a week and a half (Sept. 5 for me)
4) iResQ has a new featured employee
Jumping right in…
Snow Leopard! – That’s right, it comes out this Friday the 28th of August. You can bet that most of the employees here (myslef included) are currently making backups and preparing for the upgrade. Personally, I’ll take it slow and only put it on one computer for now as there are usually some inconvenient bugs in the newly released versions. Also, since iResQ is a member of the ACN (Apple Consultants Network), we’ll be getting a free copy sometime very soon. Thanks Apple!
Chiefs football – OK, so we’ve seen two games under the new regime of Scott Pioli and coach Todd Haley. I am not weighing too heavily on the preseason games because I know the transition from terrible to playoffs will take at least a couple of years. It sounds like Haley is running a tight ship and does not tolerate people who aren’t there to work and do thier jobs — I like the concept; let’s see how it plays out over this season.
College football – It’s no secret around the office that I am a Missouri Tiger fan. I went to college there and even though I live and work in Kansas, I will always be a Tiger fan. We do have at least one other Tiger fan in the office (the infamous Keith), but I won’t go into too much detail on the Tigers. Let’s just hope they continue to dominate (yep I said it) the big 12 North.
Nic Besel is our new iResQ featured employee – and you can click on that link to check out his profile that was posted yesterday.
No new coupons to give out today, but you can still scroll down and check out Mick’s last post if you want to save some cash this summer. Back to work for me, that’s all for now!

Pa-rumpumpumpum, everybody. It’s December already. How about that. Feels like the fall months always slip by so quickly, doesn’t it?. I was just getting used to the cooler weather and the vibrant changing colors, and pow- now it’s snowing and all the soft-rock stations are playing Christmas music. Actually, they have been since Halloween. It’s ridiculous.
So did you all take advantage of Apple’s Black Friday sales? A few hundred bucks off a new MacBook Pro is nothing to shake a stick at. And speaking of nothing to shake a stick at, check out the most gratuitous and sure-to-be sought after Christmas gift of the season. Move over, Tickle Me Elmo.
Well, what haven’t I covered yet? In brief:
-Happy belated Thanksgiving to you all. It’s the best day of the year. Football, family, meats stuffed with other meats. I’m counting down the days until next year’s. 361.
-Big 12 football. What a great weekend. KU vs. Mizzou was one of the better games I’ve ever watched. We have to keep it hush hush around here, though. The boss went to Mizzou.
-Hawaii > Kansas City. Mostly.
Ok, friends. Hope you have a delightful week and can recover from last week’s gluttony. Go take a nap.
