No one wants to go to his or her iPhone and find it not working. It equates to feeling as though you’re about to have an anxiety attack.
Before you freak out, there are ways to unbrick your phone. With a few tips, you may just get your phone back.
Remove the Case
The case could be holding down a button making the phone unresponsive. It can also cause it to overheat, which will make the phone unresponsive too. After removing the case, turn the phone off and back on again to see if that fixes it.
Plug It In
An iPhone’s battery when completely dead will simply not work. It will seem as though the phone is bricked. All you have to do is plug the charger in. Don’t expect it to turn on as soon as you plug it in, though. It will take a few minutes before the battery has enough juice to turn on.
Reboot It
Rebooting can sometimes make the iPhone turn back on again. Simply holding the power and home button down at the same time for a few seconds will make it reboot. The phone will turn on if it works. Just wait with your figures holding down the two buttons and you’ll see it flicker on if it works.
Perform a Device Firmware Upgrade (DFU)
To upgrade the firmware, press down the Home button and hold it. Plug in the USB and connect it to your computer with iTunes already up and running. When you see your device is connected on iTunes, you can let go of the Home button. You can then try to perform recovery through iTunes.
If this doesn’t work, try to press and hold the power and home button for 10 seconds while you have it connect to your computer with iTunes running. Release the power button, but leave your finger on the Home button for another 10 seconds. After this, let it go and see if that works.
