Making an appointment at the SmartGuy Bar.

Hello friends. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other here, but it’s because business here at the Q has been absolutely booming. There hasn’t been a typing hand to spare as we’ve been trudging our way through hundreds of MacBook, MacBook Pro, iPod, iPhone and iPad repairs every week. But have no fear, we’re here to serve you.

If you’ve been following Apple news, you may have seen what’s going on with the suit against Samsung for patent/copyright infringement. For those of you who are fans of the news, but prefer it in late night comedy form, here’s this:

Stefan Jobes. Good stuff. In other news, there have been semi-confirmed rumors of the smaller dock connector in the new iPhone due out in a month. You’ve probably seen this floating around the web:

That’s one tiny dock connector. And I’m not thrilled with the headphone jack on the bottom, but we’ll see what happens in September. I’ve been using OSX 10.8 for a few days now and, while it seems to be more user-friendly than the oft-awkward 10.7, it looks like there are some bugs that will be addressed in the very near future in version 10.8.1. The new version will likely be available for upgrade by the end of the month, so check your Updates menu.

That’s about all for us this week, friends. It’s August, so there’s going to be football talk about very soon, you just wait. Have a great week, and think slightly different.
