Well, the iPhone 4S is finally here. Luckily the weather out here in Kansas City has been terrific so all of those avid iPhone lovers camping out didn’t have to bear through the heat of early summer. Moving on, let’s talk iOS 5. I tried installing that sucker the minute it was announced. No luck. Every time I would go to update my iPhone 4, the whole thing would stop when iTunes attempted connecting to the Apple servers. Makes sense, everyone was trying to do this at the same time. After a long night of band practice, I was finally able to install iOS 5 on my phone a little after midnight CST. Needless to say, I went to sleep without getting to mess around with the new iOS that much. No problem though. On Thursday I was able to test out all of the new features I had been looking forward to for quite a while. Let me tell you this, Notifications is awesome. I love it. I’m just about ready to induct it into the iPhone hall of fame. You’ll know what I am talking about when you get your hands on it. Another great thing with the the new iOS is the updated Camera App. Being able to access the camera from the lock screen saves me precious seconds. This doesn’t sound like much, but when you have a two-year old that is all over the place, those few fleeting seconds matter tremendously. One last thing not necessarily iOS 5 related, Scribblenauts!! Now iTunes has it for only $4.99. That sounds a bit high for an app, but the DS game was over $30. That’s a deal to me. I wanted to get this game for my Nintendo DS but never did. Don’t be fooled by the cartoony nature of the game, it may not be for everybody, but it’s awesome.
Well, the weather is beautiful, the Chiefs have a bye week coming off of two straight wins, and it’s Friday. I love it.
