Colors of Home

Good day,

Just moved into my new house a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t be happier. Nothing broke in the move, the moving guys were cheap and friendly, cat didn’t throw up anywhere, the heat works, my girlfriend is happy, etc.
Only thing that sort of let me down was the paint. I don’t know who got ahold of the previous owner’s checkbook, but whoever decided the paint color of the interior of this place must be color blind. The living room is this weird salmon-meets-violet color, the bathroom had really tacky candy-dispenser-like decals of flowers all over it (you know, like fake tattoos) that were a complete pain to scrape off, and the kitchen has hilarious wine bottle wallpaper all over the place. Pretty funny actually. So anyways, we painted the bathroom a great java color – basically hit a home run with that one, but I blew it on the living room. I picked a pale yellow that would light the place up a bit. Put one coat and it turned out looking like a bad hole-in-the-wall mexican restaurant. Back to the drawing board. Oh well. I’ll just put on my iPod and paint it somethin’ else. Other than the paint issue, there isn’t another repair I can really think of off the top of my head. Gotta get that wallpaper out of the kitchen and paint it though. Heck, I’m just glad to be out of my tiny apartment!

On to my weekly deal of a lifetime…
