Reviewing Mobile Device Repair Expenses for 2016

Thursday, December 31st, 2015

Mobile Device RepairEach year, it’s a good idea to review the expenses you have and what you can do to reduce them. As you are doing this, we would like to encourage you to take an in-depth look into your mobile device costs, as far as insurance goes.

Many schools and businesses pay for mobile device insurance. This insurance usually covers damages for iPhone, iPads, smartphones, tablets, and MacBooks. Premiums can be rather costly when you factor in all of the devices you have as part of your organizations.

The problem is that even though you pay for the insurance, you may never use it. When you do use it, you have a deductible. This deductible can be as much as the repair would cost without insurance.

Have you ever done the numbers to see how much a repair would cost without insurance? And then take the amount you’re paying for the premium and the deductible? It’s likely you will find the cost is much more than just paying for the repair outright when/if something happens.

Trusting Online iPhone Repair Services

Tuesday, June 18th, 2013

online iPhone repair shopWhen most people have a cracked screen or broken device, they turn to the Internet to find the closest place to fix it. They have more trust in the local iPhone repair shop than any other place because it’s familiar to them, but is it always the best choice to have your device fixed? At iResQ, we don’t think so, and here’s why.

Inexperienced Technicians

Many people who have replaced an iPhone screen believe they are an expert in repairing all devices. The problem is that not every device is the same and not every fix is the same. An iPhone is different from a Galaxy, and a Nexus is different from an iPhone. One crack on an iPhone can be much different from a crack on another iPhone. Same goes for iPods, iPads, and more. Treating every case the same could end up troubling to the owner because he may end up with a device that doesn’t function the way they would expect it to when they get it back.

Low Quality Parts

To keep costs low, many iPhone repair shops purchase generic parts. As you already know, generic is usually replicas of original parts, and they are sometimes lower in quality. When you have your device repaired with low quality parts, you may end up with a broken device in just a few months. With high quality parts, you receive a device back with the same integrity as you purchased it new.

Poor Customer Service

Since brick and mortar iPhone repair shops receive a lot of business from locals, they have to push repairs out as soon as possible. This can sometimes mean they don’t take the time to care for customers as they should. Yes, it doesn’t make much sense since reputation is everything in business. But when you are one of the only repair shops in town, many people think they don’t have a choice. Luckily, that is simply not true.

Trusting an Online iPhone Repair Shop

At iResQ, our technicians are certified. What does it mean to be certified? To become certified, our technicians received extensive training on how to fix broken iPhones, iPads, iPods, and more. They are supervised by more experienced technicians until they become just as skilled as they are.

All of the parts iResQ orders are of the highest quality possible. We don’t believe in low quality parts just to get repairs out at the lowest cost possible. We want to ensure that your device ends up back in your hands as good as it was when you first put it in your hands.

Finally, iResQ goes above and beyond to ensure you are pleased with our service. We send you an email when we receive your device; we email you when we start working on your device, and when your device is repaired and being shipped. If there is a problem with your order, we will take care of it. There’s a reason why we have hundreds of positive reviews all over the Internet. We are committed to our customers’ satisfaction!

So, as you’re searching for a local place to get your broken iPhone, iPad, iPod, or any other device you have, consider online iPhone repair shop iResQ. We provide a quick turnaround just like the local shops, and our prices are often much less than theirs are. We look forward to serving you as a customer of iResQ.

The Broken iPod Touch Blues

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. We certainly did here at iResQ and we’re back at it, as busy as ever. Apple keeps selling more of their products and we keep getting more repairs in. Makes sense.

I took a quick snap of one of the many iPod Touch 4's that are in here for emergency service. Notice the cracks, this is a very common issue.

The latest phenomenon we’ve seen around the office is an increase in the iPod Touch 4th Generation screen repairs. Something must have happened nation-wide that caused all the iPod Touches to break at once… Conspiracy theorists? After talking to a few customers, I might have figured it out:

It seems that the iPod Touch was a real hit this year as a holiday gift, especially for young ones. I know that my (almost) 5-year old niece got a Touch from Santa and uses it to make videos of herself singing, among other things. I don’t need to go into that story further, but let’s just say that Santa almost messed up and got a Nano and that just wouldn’t have worked out for her. Unfortunately, a lot of these little ones have had trouble holding onto the iPods and they have broken the screens. My niece hasn’t cracked hers yet, but it’s only a matter of time. It happens, and there’s something about Apple products — when you have one, even for a short amount of time, it’s hard to live without them!

I’m told that a 64gb iPod Touch when taken to the Apple store for repair is somewhere in the neighborhood of $199 plus tax. Given all the above information, I can certainly see why we’re getting so many iPod Touches in for repair, since we charge half that ($100 currently) for that iPhone Touch 4th Generation screen/glass/digitizer repair, and even less for older models. We also repair just about every other Apple product in existence for much less than typical repair pricing or replacement costs.

It’s a tragedy when these devices get damaged, and especially heartbreaking when a child has to experience the horror first hand. If it happens to you or someone you know, you know what to do! (Hint)

That’s it for now, let us know if you need us!
